    Comments, Additional Information, References

The Carl Schmidt book "Cobblestone Masonry" and the Roudabush Survey state surname Bettridge in the original owner name and street address; however, the correct spelling of Betteridge has been verified in both cases.

"The Cobblestone Houses of Upstate New York", compiled by Dorothy Wells Pease. Research done in collaboration with Hazed B. Jeffery, supplemented with material furnished by Carl F. Schmidt. Reference the seventh paragraph on page 11.

"It [the cobblestone house] is on what was known as 'Greene's Nursery', last 50 acre's of what use to be hundreds of acres. Mr. G[reene] who is 77 years old was born on his father's 'Charles Greene Nursery'. The house was built (1840) according to our information and in Greene Family approximately 65 years. We [Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hale Greene] have lived here since 1934." Excerpt from letter written by Gertrude Marie Greene (Mrs. Marvin Hale Greene) August 12, 1961, attached to the Permanent File of Cobblestone Structure.
